Installing a Service Pack

I currently have XP Home on an older Sony VAIO Pentium II
300 Mhz computer with 196 Mb RAM. It originally had Win
98 SE on it. Have had some problems lately and have
decided to reformat my hard drive and start over a clean
with Win98 and then re-upgrade to XP.

Question: I am assuming I should also plan to install
Service Pack 1a after I get XP back on my computer. But,
since my computer is at home and I just have dialup there,
is there a way I can download SP 1a while I'm at work,
where I have a Broadband connection, and then take it home
and install it on my home machine? I was looking around
on MS Download page and couldn't find a way to just
download the update in a ZIP file that I could take home
to install. It looks like it the update automatically
scans your computer to see what needs to be updated. Of
course I don't need it to scan my PC at work because
that's not the one I'm going to install the Service Pack
on.
