Installing 3rd Party RAID Drivers After Install of XP Pro

Hi All,

A question that I have often seen asked and never fully answered!

If you have XP Pro installed on a PC (in this case with newish nForce 680
chipset) and then you want to add a pair of new SATA drives in a RAID, can
you install the 3rd Party RAID drivers into the existing XP installation and
how?

The RAID drivers are bundled up in the Nvidia chipset drivers, but if you
just run the chipset driver installation they don't get loaded.

For all new builds I do with XP I use a slipstream disc with the respective
RAID drivers included and this then adds them to the text mode install
section, but I am often asked if you can install them afterwards??

Can anyone advise??

Thanks

If required they can be installed via a repair installation of win, using
the F6 option to install from floppy early in the process

There are also likely to be Raid/Sata options in the bios which often have
to be set in order to obtain functionality.
