Hi All,

I'm trying to update a user's PC with IE6SP1. As soon as I fire up
iesetup.exe I get a message saying, "A previous installation has
pending work requiring a reboot. You need to restart your computer
to complete that installation before running Internet Explorer Setup.
Setup will now close."

AFAIK, this user previously ran Windows Update and selected
a dozen or so security fixes to install. She then left the computer
alone while she went to a meeting. (She is running Win2K.)

As the Subject says, rebooting the computer does not clear this
message. What has happened and how do I clear this condition?

Thanks,

Steve

Look on Microsoft's website for the Windows Installer Clean Up utility. For
some reason the utility is associated with Office 2000. But this should fix
the issue by "cleaning up" the erroneous condition.

I hope this helps...

Ron
