Installer Problem (8/30/2004) Update

I downloaded and installed SP2.

For some programs, such as AVG 6.0.759 Anti-Virus System, this fixed the
problem (i.e., no error messages from Symbolic Debugger and the program runs
fine).

Some programs, such as Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, didn't run before
and they still don't run (and start a cycle of Windows Installer coming on
and turning off and coming on and turning off).

A few programs, such as Adobe Reader 6.0.2, no longer give me error messages
from Symbolic Debugger--but they still don't run.

Finally, a few programs, such as Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5, that ran fine
before--don't run now (now includes error messages from Symbolic Debugger).

Mike, if the system had problems before SP2, then upgrading, unless you
know for sure the SP is designed to fix the problem, usually doesn't
help, and quite often makes it worse. My suggestion would be to remove
SP2 and fix the problems, then upgrade.
