I'm usually pretty computer savy, but I recently upgragded from WinME
and Installed XP and now have an E drive ???

I still have my Hard Drive(C) where all of my files & programs are
located, but I also now have a Local Disk(E).

The Local Disk(E)takes up 1.99 GB and says it is using FAT file
system.

I apologize for the basic questions, but WHAT is drive E?
WHERE did it come from?
and HOW do I get rid of it?

Thanks!

Drive E is actually a partition that either you have
created or else it has been created during the XP
install. You say it takes up 1.99GB. Have you clicked on
it to see what, if anything, is on the drive? When you
boot up your machine you don't by any chance get a menu
thats asks which drive you want to boot too? You really
need to examine the E partition/drive to see what it
contains. You may actually have two copies of XP on your
machine.

Hope this helps

My guess is that this is a machine that came with ME installed on it (by
a maker like HP) and the 1.99 GB partition was one that they made to
hold files needed to restore the system to ex-factory state (sounds
bigger than need be, but still). And that it was hidden from the ME but
has become visible as you did the upgrade. See what appear to be the
contents - that might give a guide
