Installed SP@ but still not recognized

Im using XP Pro and just installed SP2. The problem is, whenever I try to
open the security updates for XP SP2, an error message that it's only
applicable to the SP@ version would appear.

What do I do next?

Would you provide much more specific details. Such as, which program, or
whatever, & how leads to this situation.
In other words, what did you select, in detail.
And, what is the exact message you get.

Also, kindly confirm you are referring to XP Service Pack 2 ----- and NOT
some Office service pack.
