Help
I purchased a windows xp home upgrade for my windows 98
computer. I ran the pre-installation check-list and it
stated my computer was compatible, except for some software
adjustments.. Upon installation, the disk quits loading
and the error message "cannot copy g\1386\mfc42.dll to
c: etc.etc.
can anyone help---it is impossible to find support at
microsoft

Hi,

Issue could be due to bad or damaged CD media. Try cleaning the cd and try
again. Also, uninstall the software reported to be incompatible by the XP
upgrade advisor before running setup.
