Can I install WindowsXP Pro over WindowsXP Home without
losing all of my files and other applications? I thought
I could upgrade without losing anything but when I boot
the WindowsXP Pro cd it says "all files, subfolders, user
accounts, applications, security and desktop settings for
that Windows installation will be deleted. The "MY
Documents" folder may also be deleted." Do I have to
create another partition to install "Pro"?

Hi Jim,

Load the CD after booting the existing installation. It should offer an
upgrade option, unless this is an OEM full version. An OEM disk will not do
upgrades.
