Installation procedure for Updates of Software

Sorry to have to ask, but I must have been living in a cave. I just
discovered that, despite my settings, software updates are not automatically
downloaded and I must download new versions.

My question for those of you who have done it, should I uninstall build
1.0.501 before I install the new version?

I answered my own question by reading a FAQ. Amazing, a useful FAQ.

Nah--most people ask and never look. Then there are others who just go
ahead and try it and find out.... Fortunately, their reliance on
Microsoft's good sense as stood them in good stead in this case!
