I have a new laptop - XP Professional with Office Professional 2003.
When I open Access, the PC is unable to complete the initial configuration.
Apparently, it is looking for a file named ACC11.MS1 on a drive labelled U.
If I cancel the configuration, I get a window which announces Error 1706
"...cannot find required files...". If I close this window, Access opens and
seems to function normally.
The PC is company owned and the software was installed at company HQ (6000
miles away) - so I have no installation disks (unless I try to borrow!)
Any help to work around this problem would be much appreciated - as ever.
