installation of XP professional

I get a fatal error message during install. It says D:I386
\asms. Data error cyclic redundency check. It is a fatal
error and stops the install. any help would be
appreciated.
 
Hi

Are you using the original XP CD or a backup copy? If the latter try installing XP from the original CD.
