when installing xp pro i want to create a partition for
the sysytem, files boot files and have nothing else on
that drive. I have tried to create a 4 gb partition, but
it also has all the normal files such as my doc's,
program files and so on. How do i set the partition to be
just for sysytem files???

You don't. You can move the MY DOCUMENTS folder with the Windows
Explorer as any other folder. Also see "Cannot Move or Rename the
Documents and Settings Folder"

Download and install TweakUI for Windows XP from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Run TweakUI and go the the "My Computer" tab to change the location of
the My Documents, Program Files and other folders.

Good luck
