Installation of Windows XP on SATA RAID fails

I have been trying to install Windows XP SP 2 on a hardware RAID array
without success. The problem is that I cannot install the manufactuer's
driver during setup (after hitting F6). I always get the error message:

File Si3114r5.sys caused an unexpected error (4096) in line 1742 in
\[path to file]\oemdisk.c

The web is full of people having the same problem but obviously there is no
solution to this.

Iam using a Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 Mainboard with an onboard SiI 3114 SATA
controller

I have tried several versions of the driver. The only change is that the
error number changes from (4096) to (512) or to (1024).

What is going on there?

Bios Change?

I had this problem on a machine and the solution was not that a Sata driver was needed but that I had to change the controller information in the Bios to combined instead of single Raid.

Once the install was complete I was then able to reset up the Raid and put the bios back to the orginal config?

Hope this helps
