Installation issues

I am trying to install Vista RC1 on a systeem to dual boot Fedora Core 5.
During the installation step 2 says select destination. I had a gB FAT32
Partition set up, and it said it needs to be NTFS. I formatted the drive to
such, and now it keeps telling me that windows did not detect any volume that
match the criteria. Now I have removed the FC5 drive entirely, and it still
gives me the error no matter how large a partition I make.

I am running a Dell Dimension 2400
Using an SIL680 RAID card with driver floppy
and a maxtor 300gB HDD

Hi,

What format is the active partition? Not the installation target, but the
partition or volume that is designated as active. It has to be NTFS for
Vista to install its bootloader.

well it wasn't listing any from yhe primary drive, however in this system's
BIOS I found there is a Hard disk sequence option separate from the boot
sequence, all I had to do was List this drive as primary, and it installed.
