I am trying to install InDesign 2.0 on my XP and the autoplay will
bring up the installation window, but when I click install InDesign,
nothing happens. I was able to load the software on another computer
running Windows 98 so it's not the disc. Help, please.

Hi,

I have seen this often and have cursed "DemoShield" for some poorly
written code (pre and post MacroVision takeover). Without researching
"why" I might add :-} But thats laziness because I could if I wanted
to, but never bothered sort of thing...
Anyway, you could try on "Turning on DEP for essential Windows
services and programs only".
Control Panel / System / Advanced (tab) / Preformance-settings
(button) / Data Execution Protection (tab). The see if that helps.

Otherwise, just browse the CD until you find a setup.exe ot
install.exe. Often the autorun.inf points to the DemoDhield exe so its
no good running that as you will get the "nothing happens" problem.
AKA you missed (in the game of Hurkle is Hiding circa 1978) when
shooting the arrow into a cave - using an ASR-33 terninal I mite
add. :-).

Hope that helps.

I tried adjusting the DEP settings, but still nothing. It's weird
beause I installed the same software on another computer running
Windows 98 and it worked great. This one, the autoplay installation
just doesn't want to run. I'm thinking it's got to be some setting on
the computer that's not letting it start up. So, any other suggestions?
