After months of using XP Home without any problems my
system crashed. Tried several reintalls all of which
reported multiple install files as not being copied. Hit
escape to skip. Error message on the Blue Screen.
Subsequently the system would not POST. Replaced the mb
and case (new power supply). System now POSTs but the
reinstall to a new drive still fails. Can copy most files
(90+%) as apposed to 15% before. I'm stuck.
 
Rich, do you have another CDRom drive you can try? Did you clean the
WinXP CD with soap and water. Clean from the
center out and not in a circle.
