Install XP over 2003

I want to install XP over an (old) installation of 2003. I cannot use the
CD. How to do this?

Why can't you use an XP cd? Are you trying to install over a network? Is
this a computer that has been retired by your company? Does it not have a
cd drive?

Please give details about your computer and the specifics of the edition of
XP you are trying to install.

Normally you would boot with the media and delete the old partition, create
a new one, format, and continue with Setup.

Restart and go into the BIOS. Set the BIOS to boot from the CD. Restart
after saving BIOS settings. You will now be booting from the XP CD. You're
installing XP on a box with Windows Server 2003?

What 2003 are you talking about? Office 2003? Server 2003?

What does "I cannot use the CD" mean? What CD? Why not? What happens
when you try? If you get an error message, please quote it verbatim.
