You need to create a "slipstreamed" installation CD.

Create a Slip Stream version of Windows XP

Sure you can, but it will only create a partition of 127gb approx, leaving
you with free space that you can partition later

sorry 'bout that... meant that i'd like to have the entire 300 gb w/o
having to install to a smaller partion and then enlarge the partion later...
