Install XP Home

I bought a used computer 1.6ghz with XP Pro loaded. When I tried to update
at MS I got a invalid software message. MS would not update. Can I format
the HD and load my XP Home edition? If so how do I get another key number to
start it?

You cannot use one copy of Home on two machines - you will have to buy a
second copy.
