Hi

If I install Windows XP x64 will I loose any files and can I run all of my
32-bits applications and games? And can I eventually downgrade to 32-bits
without loosing any data?

The pre-release version of WinXPx64 will *not* perform an upgrade. A
clean installation (or dual boot) is your only option. Remember,
WinXPx64 is intended to be released as an OEM license only, which means
that it cannot, by design, perform upgrades.

That being said, most 32-bit applications and games will still work
just fine, as WinXPx64 is designed to be backwards compatible with
standard 32-bit applications. In fact, some of your newer games may run
even better. For instance, both Far Cry and Doom 3 run better when I
boot into WinXPx64, than they do in WinXP Pro, on the same hardware.

However, remember that WinXPx64 is still a pre-release version. You
should make sure that you can obtain 64-bit device drivers for your
specific hardware components before proceeding. You should also be
aware that there's currently no 3rd party firewall or antivirus
applications available.

And can I eventually downgrade to 32-bits
without loosing any data?

No. The only way to downgrade from WinXPx64 to a 32-bit OS would be to
format the hard drive and start clean.
