Install Vista

I am doing a clean install with Vista Premium.
The pc boots from cd rom, the installation starts, but gets to a point where
it says a cd/dvd drive device driver is missing. The Windows hardware
advisor claims no problems with my existing hardware. Where can I get a
driver?

It needs a driver for the IDE controller. I ran into the same problem
tonight. You can sometimes get it from a windows XP CD, or download from the
motherboard manufacturer site.

Thanks for the help.

I tried a different approach and it worked. I was installing to a new sata
hard drive, so I disabled all ide controllers in the bios and used a usb dvd
drive and installed Vista. After installation I turned the IDE controller on
in the bios and all of my drives work fine. My only problem now is that my
Xerox WorkCentre XL2140df is not supported.
