Install Vista on a second HD

If I use the following senario will I be able to reinstall Vista to another
hard drive (other then the one its on now)? I now have a duel boot system (XP
on drive 1 and Vista on drive 2). I want to clean install Vista on drive 3
without destroying XP. I intend to delete Vista off of drive 2. The following
is my plan.

Insert the Vista DVD while in XP, don't let it run. go to a CMD prompt and
type in there: X:\boot\bootsect /nt52 C: ...An error will come up because the
bootsector is in use but it will proceed. After a restart I will have only XP
as option. Format the Vista drive (drive 2) from within XP and reinstall
Vista again on drive 3 without losing XP?

Does this sound Do able?

To get rid of the Vista boot menu which gives you the dual boot option for
XP and Vista i would download the freeware application VistaBootPro
(www.vistabootpro.org). Install this on Vista then run it. When VistaBootPro
opens click the Bootloader tab and click on the radio button next to the
'uninstall the vista bootloader (used to restore legacy OS) option. Next
close the VistaBootpro down and shutdown Vista. Now when you reboot you will
have no dual boot menu you will simply boot straight into XP.

Now commence to delete Vista from the 2nd hard drive from within XP. Once
you have done that you can then start a clean install of Vista, only this
time, when asked where you want to put vista, you can direct it to your 3rd
hard drive or partition.

In my case I have two 80GB hard drives. Drive 0 contains 2 partitions
containing XP Home on the first partition and XP Pro on the second
partition. Drive 1 contains 4 partitions with Vista on the first partition,
backup files on partition 2, image of XP Home on partition 3 and image of XP
pro on partition 4.
