I installed a game program on my hard drive and then decided to move the folder. After this the program went wacky. So I deleted the folder manually via windows explorer and then tried to reinstall the program. Now the install shield doesn't work. It's like the computer thinks the program is still installed. Could it be a registry thing? Or something else? Help.

You should always use the uninstall program that comes with the program.
By simply deleting the programs folder, you likely left an untold amount of
settings in the registry as well as who knows how many files in other
folders. It's going to be very difficult to clean this up.

If you deleted the folder to Recycle bin, try to restore it and move the
folder back to the original location. Try to uninstal the game and reinstal
to a new location
