install outlook contacts on new/different computer

Im trying to install my contacts list from my work computer to my home
computer. Im following all the steps as instructed but toward the end Im
prompted with:


"file access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access
the file C:\Documents and settings\my name\Desktop\my user name.pst"

How do I get "permission" to access my own contacts?
 
Did you move this file to your hard drive and remove its read only attribute
before trying to open it?
 
Russ, thanks so much for the answer - removing the "read only" did the trick.
