Install from the hard drive.

Hi,
Is it possible to install Windows XP from the hard drive? I have been
thinking if I copy the installation-cd to a second partion. Wouldn't it be
possibe to install the OS from that partion?
I have programs such a Wordprocessors and Photo-editing programs allready
on a partions and always install them from the hard-drive.

Yes, but you would have to boot to another operating system (DOS) to
launch the installation process and if you want to use the preferred
NTFS file system you would have to use fdisk to delete the present NTFS
operating system partition and then create a FAT32 one and then after
the install is done you would have to convert the partition to NTFS.
There is really not much to be gained from doing this, it's easier,
faster and less complicated to simply use the CD.

Hi,
Thank you, then I know. Yes, It seem to be much easier to install the OS
from the ditect CD.

Thanks,
