Install Error message - UPATC.SYS not found

I installed XP Professional last week and near the end of the installation I got a dialog box saying that the UPATC.SYS file could not be found and to tell the installer where to find it. I have no idea where such a file is! I just cancel the box and the instalation proceeded. My system seems to be running fine but I keep wondering if one day that missing file will be a problem. Any advice?

You didn't say whether you were installing clean or upgrading?

It's likely associated with a peripheral device that was attached to the
system when you performed the installation. It's always a good idea to
disconnect most peripheral devices when installing XP. This includes any
multimedia type devices like digital cameras or card readers. External Zip
drives, scanners and other devices can also cause problems. After the
installation, it is easy to install these plug and play devices by turning
off the PC, attaching the devices and restarting.
