Hey guys, I've got an old laptop here, a Dell Inspiron 4000. And I need
to put ram in It. Many of you guys will say crucial.com, but I've found
a 256MB stick SODIMM PC100 144 Pin, 32X64 for 28 dollars.

Thats the site. I'm wondering if this is too good to be true. Let me
know what you guys think

Here's the Specs
Dell Inspiron 4000
800mhz P3M
128MB In DIMM 1
64 MB in DIMM 2
30GB HD

Please, help would be appreciated

I think you need PC-133, not pc-100.

I can't tell for sure, because 800 mhz works out either way 8*100 or
6*133. Usually 800mhz works out to be pc-133, though.

Download a copy of everest or aida32 to tell for sure. Atlernately,
have a look at the ram inside the laptop.

Thanks, but I need PC-100, in the laptop now, both sticks are dell
PC-100, so I believe that I would still need PC-100, I could use
PC-133, but then it would just down itself to match the rest!

The memory meets Dell's specs of PC100 CL=3. The only thing to check
is if a double sided 8 chip module will fit ok and isn't too thick.

Thanks! I think that the one chip in here is double sided, and fits
okay. But i'll take the bottom off, and check again!
