Inserting video from C Drive into presentation

Ok. I have a DVD-R which contains several videos from different VHS tapes.
I bought the Dazzle Video Creator Platinum and transferred some of the video
clips to my hard drive C. I believe it transferred them as an mpg. I have
been trying to insert them into my Power Point presentation with no avail.
When I do I only see a black screen in my slide and it does not play. Now if
I go past the slide containing the video then back to the slide containing
the video clip and double click on the movie slide it will sometimes play.
This is while I am viewing the slide show. Then sometimes my power point
locks up and I have to go to task manager. How do I get the video clips to
play?

I believe that the Dazzle (Pinnacle) stuff either conflicts with PPT or
encodes the MPEGs with a codec PPT doesn't like. You can see a little info
here: http://www.echosvoice.com/tshoot_video2.htm, but I'd recommend getting
PFCMedia, letting it convert your videos, and being done with it.

Alternatively, dump the MPEGs into Windows Movie Maker and export them as
WMV, then insert those into PPT.
