I am inserting a tif format graphic into a PowerPoint slide, but everytime I
do, PowerPoint freezes up, any suggestions. Is this the graphic filter that
is not good

Christine,

there are many 'flavors' of tiff files (that's why I'm not keen on them)

convert it to something else...anything....PNG is good....then report back

So PowerPoint does not have the options of inserting a tif. I thought tif
(Exported from Illustrator) were sharper resolution than a png.

No, that's not the case. PPT can import many flavors of TIF. No program can
import ALL of them. A lot depends on which version of PPT you have as well.

No, unless Illustrator's doing a particularly bad job of exporting PNGs for some
reason. Given the same image size in pixels, there should be no difference
between the two, at least as far as sharpness is concerned.

You may be seeing differences if your drawing is in CMYK. Illustrator may
export CMYK TIFFs in that case. PPT only does RGB and some versions are known
to have troubles with CMYK TIFFs.
