Inserting Specific Symbols

I am using lookups to get an overall rating (1-5 stars)
based on a percetage score. Everything works fine and the
lookup is functioning correctly, but rather than score
someone as '4.5 Stars' or '4 stars' I would rather use
the '*' symbol. My problem arises with using half stars.
I cannot find one in the symbols that are provided with
either Excel or Word 2000. Can anyone help? I need to
find a 1/2 star symbol that I can insert into my lookup
table.

I have never come across a half-star character in any font I have used.
Wingdings2 font contains quite a variety of stars and similar characters,
but no half-star as far as I can see. All I can suggest is rating 1-10
rather than 1-5, so avoiding the need for half-stars. Alternatively, look
into creating a font of your own containing an appropriate symbol.

Instead of a half star how about...

****½

(Alt-0189 on the keypad)
