Inserting notes into e-mail with Outlook 2003

Anyone know how to insert a note as text (not attachment) into an e-mail
with Outlook 2003? When I do it, all I get in the mail message is something
like:

Modified: Mon 29/03/2004 11:56

Instead of the actual text of the note, as used to be the case with Outlook
2000.

Anyone know what's happening?

By "note" do you mean an item from Outlook's Notes folder?
