Are there certain types of music files that can be used in a powerpoint
presentation? I have inserted a file to play for each frame and when I send
the presentation by email, the recipient can't hear the music file.

The only music file that is embedded in PowerPoint are .wav files. the remainder
are linked, and must be manually sent with the presentation.

How do I insert a .wav file and must this file be located on the C: drive?

Depending on the size of your wav file max size 50000kb which is set under
Options | General | Link sounds with file size... The easiest way, is to right
click the slide where you want the music to start, select Slide Show | Slide
Transition | Modify transition | navigate to wherever your sound file is
located.

Should read "where you want the music to start, or select..."
