No, I can't insert mpeg files. I can insert Windows
Media Audio/Video files using the Insert > Movies and
Sound in ppt, put no mpeg. I bought a new dvd camcorder
thinking I would just have to put the cd from the unit in
my laptop to insert the videos for ppt presentaions but
it doesn't work. I don't think ppt reads mpeg files. Is
there a way I can convert mpeg2 files to Windows Media
Audio/Video files?
Your camera most likely uses a proprietary codec. You might be able to find
something in the user manual about it. To understand all of this, see http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm. PowerPoint
*does* read MPEGs if Windows has the things that are needed, but in your case I
would suspect the codec.
