Inserting GIF files

Hi

I want to insert a GIF file (with animation) into my slide. But when I do so, I get only a static image. Pls tell me how I can insert an animated GIF file. I use Power Point 97

Joseph,

Unless your in 'the know' it's not obvious to know that powerpoint 97 does not know how to handle animated gifs.
Powerpoint 2000/2002/xp/2003 all can know how to handle animated gifs

Now you know too.

Thanks for your reply. I did check the Help in PP97 and read that the GIF
filter's drawback is that it allows only the first slide of a multiimage GIF
to be inserted onto a slide. But I was sure that some smart person would
have found a work-around for this (apart from ugrading to PP2000).
