inserting animation in a diagram

I am trying to insert animation onto a diagram (triangle) I want to break up
the triangle and i am not able to any ideas.

For PowerPoint 2002/XP and 2003,
Add the effect you want.
Then, double click on the effect to bring up the effect options.
Click on the Diagram Animation tab.
Click on the Group diagram dropdown field.
Try either the Up or Down options.
Is that what you want?
