Inserting a link

I am in a word document and i am trying to insert a link to a powerpoint
presentation. When i insert a hyperlink/file/object i can not e-mail the
document out. Other people can not open the link. Can someone help me?

If you must have a link in the Word document, then you have to send the PPT
file too, and it has to be saved in exactly the same folder path as it was
on your computer. That's what a link is: just a pointer to the location of
the file. If the file isn't where the link says it is, the link can't work.

Instead, uncheck the "Insert as link" option in the Insert > Object dialog.
That will embed the entire presentation inside the Word document, so it will
travel with the rest of the document. Leave the "Show as icon" box checked,
and the recipients can double-click the icon to launch the presentation.

Hi Nela,

There is an exception to the method Jay mentions if your goal is to keep the file size down in the email and that is to place the
PPT file on a webpage or a location that everyone on your email list can access, although with many of today's antivirus and
protection software implementations the receipients of your email may still not be allowed to use the link.
