Insert video clip into form, double click to activate?

I have created a database for a number of archaeological sites. A form exists
for each site and I have a number of photos inserted into a bound object
frame that opens when double clicked and I would like to be able to do the
same for video clips that I have taken of the sites. It seemed straight
forward - the option of insert video clip came up when I chose insert object
but then the message appeared - video not available blah blah.
could anybody help me? I keep coming up against ole servers & Activex
controls - wouldn't know which one I needed anyway - so I feel very confused
and I'm only an archaeologist......

Hi Arkadia,

I'm no real expert here, but I know that it's not a good idea to put your
videos in your database. Access has an issue when db's grow too big (2GB
limit, I think). It would be way better to put a link to your videos in
your db and have the videos reside outside the db.

Hello Darhl,
Thanks for replying. I have tried to link the video clips but although a
window opens I can hear sound but no image and I receive the message: video
not available, cannot find 'vids:mjpg' decompressor. I don't know where to
find this either....could you help?

thanks,
Arkadia
