Hi All,

Users have reported that this feature is not working, when a user attempts
to use this feature nothing happens.

This works for users under the Administrators group but not for non-admins.

Thanks for your help and time.

Regards

Sandip

What happens when they try it? Do they get any message? What is the full and
exact message? Have you watch them trying it?

What version of PowerPoint?

Are both presentations on their hard drive, or on a network drive?

What limitations have been placed on their permissions?

Sandip,

I think a number of functions that are now built into PPT were implemented as
add-ins (.PPA files) in c:\program files\microsoft office\office in PPT97.

Insert, Slides From File may be one of them.

If your antivirus software prevents macros from running, that might explain the
problem. Try turning AV software off as a test (I'd disconnect the computer from
the network first, to be safe).

If that doesn't seem to help, try a maintenance install. Run Setup from the Office
CD. The installer will detect that you already have Office installed and offer a
Repair or Maintenance install as one of the options. Let it do that.

You must have a presentation open and visible to use Insert Slides from File.
Is the function grayed out? Or are you able to click on it? If so, the dialog
that appears looks pretty gray, but you must click on the Browse button to
locate the presentation. At what point is it "grayed out"?
