insert .scr files into a power point presentation

S

Screen saver

Hello
I have some really cool screensavers(.scr files) stored in
my pc. I want to use one of them as a background to a
powerpoint presentation. It has animation and everything
but the extension file is .scr. When I insert it as an
object it just opens the secreensaver leaving powerpoint
in the background.
Is it possible to use that scr file as a picture or
powerpoint background?
Thank you.

You could do a screen grab to take a still from the screensaver, then insert
it as a picture, but you may not be able to use the PrintScreen key for the
grab as that may disturb the screensaver. You won't be able to use a
screensaver as an animated background. Apart from anything else
screensavers are programmed to quit upon mouse or keyboard
interaction...imagine the consequences...
I'll refrain from offering my opinion about whether animated backgrounds are
effective for presentations but will say that you'll find it very difficult,
if not impossible, to achieve effectively in PowerPoint.
