Insert Clipart not showing images until I preview them

In PPT XP, When I go to insert clipart, I search for a topic and the side pane fills with files that show a "windows" graphic and the text "dglxasset.aspx" under each file. I can preview each of them individually and I can insert them but I can't see more than one at a time when preview/properties. In the preview/properties window every graphic has the "Name:" of "dglxasset.aspx" and the "Open with" changes from Corel Draw to ACDSee. I believe it is Corel Draw for wmf's and ACDSee for gif's.

Sometimes when I double click a file to insert it, I get an error message of "Powerpoint couldn't create a picture from the specified file"

The filename, dglxasset.aspx leads me to believe this is something
created (or caused) by http://dgl.microsoft.com -- which would be the
online clips which show in your Clip Org taskpane as web clips.

You might try emptying your temporary internet files folder. DGL uses
that area to "unpackage" the clip downloads; it may be that it also uses
that space for something to do with displaying the webclips in your
taskpane.

This occurs when I search locally for clip art, not via downloaded clips from the net.

Yes, but that .aspx thing is a web file, and when you search for clips
using Office 2002 or 2003, if you have an internet connection, the clip
organizer automatically calls clips from the web (as well as your
harddrive) unless you've specifically turned that off.

Did you at least try deleting your temporary internet files folder?
