Insert Associated Records to Subform

Hi,

I hope I can explain what I want to do clear enough that someone may be able
to help. I can't seem to find just what I need by searching other posts.

I have a main form that contains following info: date, quote number,
customer, vendor, serial number, model.
I have a "template" form that contains vendor and model with list of
associated part numbers, descriptions and locations of part numbers. This
form is linked to the parts list to show current pricing.
I have a subform on the main form that contains the same fields as the
template form, but I need it to populate with the data from the template
form and then be able to change those records from the template form and to
add to the list, if needed.

Does this make sense? I'm trying to have a list of parts specific to each
model and then incorporate that list to a subform linked to a main form by
quote number and then be able to delete/change/add to the subform.

Also, how would I go about using the same list, once in place specific to
model and serial number, again at a later date with a different quote
number?

I'm not sure if this is a good setup or if it should be done differently.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Pam

Karl,

Thanks for replying. I kept working at it and bit by bit have peiced
something together that seems to work - not sure it's the most efficient,
but it's there.

Can you help with another issue that has come up with this same project? I
have the main form, a subform with list of required parts (always the same
based on model number on main form) and another subform with a list of extra
parts (selected as needed unique to each serial number for each model). As
each serial number is worked up, it is quoted with quote number and stored
in a table. I need to be able to copy all information from forms and give
it another quote number in the future. Is there a way to copy all the info
in the tables for specific serial number and yet change just the quote
number?

Thanks for any insight you may have.
Pam
