I would start by looking at the instructions that came in the box. If it is
a second hand drive, go to the drive manufacturers web site and find
instructions there, in the support area. You can download the instructions,
usually as a .pdf file and print them out. You will need the free Adobe
reader to view the file. Get it at www.adobe.com.
