It sucks that now I have to have Outlook as my default email provider before
I can use the Address Book, especially with Chritmas here as I want to print
labels for the christmas card envelopes !
I had already placed the addresses into Outlook Express Address Book but
cannot import them into the Outlook Address Bok and even when I try to add an
address into this file it tells me that I cannot do so !
Has anyone any ideas?

Life used to be much simplier

You have tried File-Import and Export-Import Internet Mail and Addresses?

You don't add addresses in the Addressbook view in Outlook - you add them in
the Contacts folder..

Gordon,

Many thanks for replying.

I have the addreses in the Contacts file of Outlook. I imported them from
Outlok Express. They are all sitting there. When I come to print a batch of
labels I am informed that to be able to use these addresses I must have
Outlook as my defaut email programme. I have tried this and still no joy as
when I come to select the address to be printed on the labels, there are none
in the Address Book !
I have never had this problem beore.

Repeating: there is no address book in Outlook. Read the Help files and many
websites that tell you how to perform a mail merge to your Outlook Contacts.
Start with this one:
http://www.gmayor.com/merge_labels_with_word_2007.htm

It's odd you're whining about having to use Outlook for this instead of
Outlook Express. Word doesn't even use Outlook Express for mail merges.
