Input Field in IE explorer causing hangup time

J

Josh

Hi,

I am having problems w/ IE 6.x browser. Whenever there
are input fields (i.e. text boxes, drop down lists, etc.)
the browser is extemely slow to respond and correlates to
the amount of input fields on the web page. Some pages
will literally scroll one "click" every 15 seconds or the
lag time when typing into a text box is incredibly long.

I remember it happening around the time I got DSL, but
cannot say if it happend right when I got DSL or not.

Has anyone heard of this problem? Can anyone help? My
email is beefjello@(pls remove this)frontiernet.net

Thanks in advance.

Josh,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware,
spyware, parasite)

First, from IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Accessibility, is User
Style Sheet
checked? If you don't deliberately use a style sheet, note the name of the
sheet and uncheck it. You can find and delete the sheet if you wish.

The existence of a style sheet would indicate DataNotary, a CWS variant.
Download and run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
(alternate download: http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads.php)
If you don't find a style sheet, CWS is still a good first step.

Next:
Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd (Remove
items listed in red- others
are optional.)

Don,
Thank you very much...I have been trying to solve this on
my daughter's computer for hours. It had OSLogo.bmp as a
style sheet.
