So this is an updated open source version of Ingres II, not a revision of
University Ingres?

Why is it preferable to say, MySQL? A free Access frontend to any free
Windows SQL database would rock, wouldn't it?
MySQL, Ingres, Adabas-D, etc. any of them.
Or any of the above and Postgres on Linux

Stonebreaker was apologetic about it.
Caused me much pain in a previous life.

Ingres (INGRES). What's next, IBM releasing DB2 as open source?
Oracle releasing ORACLE? I think my heart would stop.

There is a beta or release candidate available from their site.
