Info on GoOfflineOnSlowLink

I need an expert on this. it indicates that when using the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\GoOfflineOnSlowLink
= 1 it uses the Offline files to detect speed and determine when offline.
But when it is set to 0, does that mean that it is now using the tcp
connection to determine when offline, based on the threshold set in policy?
Also, when it is set to 0, is that the same as the key not being there at
all? I ask b/c I have people with it set to 0, and have gone into offline
mode before.

Thanks,

0 is the same as *not* having an GoOfflineOnSlowLink entry.

[[Note To modify the value that defines a slow link, use the Group Policy
snap-in to configure the Configure Slow Link Speed Group Policy setting with
the value that you want, and then restart the computer.]]

[[Configures the threshold value at which Offline Files considers a network
connection to be slow. Any network speed below this value is considered to
be slow. When a connection is considered slow, Offline Files automatically
adjust its behavior to avoid excessive synchronization traffic and will not
automatically reconnect to a server when the presence of a server is
detected. If you enable this setting, you can configure the threshold value
that will be used to determine a slow network connection. If this setting is
disabled or not configured, the default threshold value of 64,000 bps is
used to determine if a network connection is considered to be slow. Note:
Use the following formula when entering the slow link value: [ bps / 100].
For example, if you want to set a threshold value of 128,000 bps, enter a
value of 1280.]]

This is great information but I have one more question. Isn't there a
registry entry that forces a laptop to not go offline, even if it falls below
the threshold?
