I believe my system is infected with various spy/adware
bugaboos. I can't fix or delete them. I've tried Norton
AV and Trend Micro PC-cillin. It's a XP Home from Best
Buy (3 months old) with NO operating system CDs provided.
Was considering formatting the C drive and installing XP
Pro. Present "Home" version has "System Recovery" which
resides by itself on "D" drive. Have run that 3 times
with bugs still present. Question is - can I do what I
stated above safely or is there another option not so
drastic? Thanks.

Thanks a lot. I've run Ad-Aware and Spybot but Trend
Micro tells me there's many, many "infected files". I'll
try CWShredder - haven't tried that one. Thanks very much.

Greetings,

Try these programs to check for any spyware that may be
Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:

Did you disable system restore before you tried the fixes?
