INF is invalid after upgrade to Win XP/Pro SP2

After upgrade, getting following message when trying to re-install driver for
Belkin 11Mbps Wireless Notebook Newtork Adapter:

"A service section in this INF is invalid"

Did you get the latest drivers for this device from Belkin's website?
You need drivers written for XP.

Yes. I used the Belkin driver. It is actually the same exact driver for XP,
2000, and ME. At other times I get the error:
"A name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name".

I had taken the trouble, after uninstalling (before reinstalling) of
removing extraneous leftover "Belkin" entries in the registry. No help
