.inf files

Since doing a full (new)install of WinXP Pro SP2 my internal dvd does not
work. Device manager says it is working properly but I keep getting a "please
insert disk into drive". The dvd worked properly before I installed XP Pro,
(XP Home SP2 was the previous system). I re-installed the dvd software but
there was no change. Is there a possiblity some of the .inf files need to be
updated? If so, how do I do that?

Check the website of the DVD drive manufacturer for updated drivers. If
nothing is on the website I recommend calling the manufacturer to receive
further information.

I've downloaded and installed the latest driver but still have the same
problem. Any further suggestions?
