I've created some master slides. When I make an individual change to it, for
example font colour, and I save and re-open the presentation it is changed
back to the old colour.

How can I make individual changes, and let Powerpoint not change it back
into the master-colour.

But is there a possibility to work with master slides, whithout a 'fix colour'?
We work with a lot of different colours in f.e. our titles.

thanks.

The Slide Master settings control all new slides. If you want to change the
font on just one regular slide, go to View > Normal and make the change there.
It isn't clear to me how you are making the change or what version of PowerPoint
you are using. Can you let us know more details?

Sonia,

We use Powerpoint 2003. SP1

For example, I have a Slide Master with a certain lay out. My standard Title
colour and font is setted to for example Arial and colour white.

When I am working in a presentation, on this slide, and I want my title in
black, I just change the colour. (in the way you discribed, view > normal..)
I make the changes in the normal mode. Then I close my presentation, and open
it again. All my changes are setted back again in the colour of the slide
master (for this example title is white again.)

I hope you can help me..

Well, yes I did.

I really don't know why Powerpoint changes it back. It should be possible to
make individual changes? Does it has something to do with my Master Slide
Colour setting?

It should work, but if you reapply the slide layout the text will revert to what
the Slide Master is set to.

Since you are using PowerPoint 2003, you might consider creating a second Master
with a different Color Scheme. Go to View > Master > Slide Master. Then go to
Insert > Duplicate Slide Master. Then while the new Master is still
highlighted, go to Format > Design Template and in the Task Pane click on Color
Schemes and at the bottom of the Task Pane click on "Edit Color Scheme" and
change the Text color to your alternative color. You can then right click on
the Slide Master thumbnail on the left side and select "Rename Master" and name
it to something like "Alternate Color". Now return to Normal View.

Now you can change the font color by applying the Slide Master named "Alternate
Color".
